Who is Britt Ekland? She was born on 6th October 1942 in Sweden and brought up to be the poster girl for beautiful, big-eyed Scandinavian blondes. She followed a drama school and then enlisted a traveling theater group.
With her looks as her passport, Britt arrived films and evolved a star in Italy. When Peter Sellers convened her in a hotel, he fell hard for her and they soon wedded. The combination of Sellers’ stardom and her stunning beauty allotted to her fame.
She seemed in two films with her husband: After the Fox and the forgettable The Bobo. Her claim to prosperity would come as the young girl who formulated the striptease in The Night They Raided Minsky’s.
Later she seemed in a string of films that were built around her looks and not much else. She did seem in some first-rate productions over the years, though, two of them being Get Carter and the cult classic The Wicker Man.
The high point in her career would be her character as Bond girl Mary Goodnight in The Man with the Golden Gun. After her much-publicized detachment with rocker Rod Stewart in 1977, Britt proceeded to make movies–both features and made-for-TV films–and tried the stage.
